Homemade Essential Oils Laundry Detergent

I cannot rave enough about this Homemade Essential Oils Laundry Detergent. Not only is it non-toxic, but it also really gets your clothes clean. The lemon and epsom salt help get stains out, while the Purification Essential Oil helps get rid of unpleasant smells.

If you have anyone in your family who has sensitive skin (or maybe you do yourself!), this is the perfect solution. It won’t irritate your skin like regular laundry detergents, and it smells good, too!

Homemade Essential Oils Laundry Detergent

Ingredients

1 (16oz) box of pure baking soda
1 1/2 cup of washing soda
1 cup Borax
1/2 cup Epsom salt (in the beauty/bath section at your grocery or drugstore, or here)
2 tablespoons of salt
5 drops Purification Essential Oil (get it here)
5 drops Lemon Essential Oil (get it here)
Airtight container (get one here)

Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees. In a casserole dish, empty the box of baking soda and spread evenly. Place in oven and “bake” until it’s grainy (not powdery anymore) and dull. You’ll want to stir a few times while it’s in the oven. Remove and allow to cool – go ahead and get your laundry detergent ingredients ready!

Using a food processor, add all ingredients and blend well. Simply pour it in an airtight container and when you’re ready to use it, just scoop out 2 tablespoons and add it to the tray or the drum (depending on your machine). Makes approximately 74 loads.
